What is the difference between CRNO and CRGO in an
transformer and what is the advantages of these two.
Answer Posted / sekhar
1.CRGO -cold rolled Grain Oriented Steel.Basically high
silicon content in steel which improves electrical
properties.Grain orientation takes place in line of rolling
and with box annealing and hences losses are less in in
grain orientation direction where current flows in a
particular direction.Basically with less electrical losse
e.g hysteresis loss, heat loss and mainly used in power
transformer.
2.CRNO-Cold rolled non oriented steel having lees silicon
content than CRGO but more than ordinary steel.Grains are
non oriented and hence used in mainy electrical stamping
manufacturing for fan, motors, chocks etc .It gives less
elect losses.
