why secondary terminal of current transformer should not be
open circuited?
Answer Posted / narmatha
if secondary terminal is open circuited then due to absence
of counter amp-turns of the secondary, the unopposed primary
m.m.f. will be set up an abnormal high flux in the core
which will produce excessive core loss with subsequent
heating and high voltage across the secondary terminals.
