Test plan is a document which drives complete testing activities for the successful delivery of the project.
It contains mainly 16(This may vary from company to company) sections.Those are
1>OBJECTIVE
2>SCOPE
3>APPROACH/TEST STRATEGY
4>TESTING METHODOLOGIES
5>ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
6>TEST DELIVERABLE
7>TESTING ENVIRONMENT
8>ASSUMPTIONS
9>RISKS
10>CONTIGENCY PLAN (or) MITAGATION PLAN
11>ENTRY & EXIT CRITERIA
12>ESTIMATIONS
etc........
