what is the different between earth leakage relay and earth
fault relay?

Both Take their sensing from a ring core CT. In earth
leakage relay sensing is high i.e in mA.Where as earth fault
relay is used on higher loads where sensing is low i.e in A.
This is why earth leakage is used for the house hold devices
or power supply sockets protection. And Earth fault relay is
use for Industrial loads,motors normally more than 37KW (Not
a standard),distribution,generation etc.
