how to caluculate APFC panel rating, my running Load is
1320KW, Present P.F 0.76 to 0.8 we need 0.98 p.f
Answer Posted / deniram anandrao nikhare
KVAR Required = Operating KW x [Tan (A1) - Tan (A2)]
Where A1 = Inverse Cosine of present power factor
= Cos-1(0.78)
= 38.739
A2 = inverse Cosine of desired power factor
= Cos-1(0.98)
= 11.478
Tan(A1)=Tan(38.739)=0.8022
Tan(A1)=Tan(11.478)=0.2030
Hence,
KVAR Required=1320 x (0.8022-0.2030)
SO KVAR NEEDED TO ATTACHED=790 kVAR
