How to find out the quantity of steel FE415
Answer Posted / mohammed mohiddin
1. Unit wt of steel Ws = 0.785 kg/cm^2/meter length.
2. Crossectional Area (As) of steel can be found using
formula
As = pi x d^2/4
where d = dia of rebar in cm.
3. Now, wt of steel = Ws x As kg/m
Eg:
Take,
d = 16 mm
Wt of steel per meter lenght = 0.785 x 3.1428 x (1.6)^2/4
= 1.58 kg/ meter length of bar
This can be simplified for calculation as below:
Wt of steel = square of dia in mm/162 (kg/ meter length)
Note:- This is very simple method where we must remember to
mention dia in millimeter to get result in kg per
meter length of rebar.
...Good luck...
