login to windows system with <sid>adm user goto rum type cmd
---->and type r3trans -d . if it returns zero connection to
the data base is sucessful.if not we need to analyze the
trans.log file.trans.log file is generated in the directory
where r3trans -d command is executed.
C:\Documents and Settings\devadm\Desktop>r3trans -d
trans.log is created in Desktop.bcz i executed it in Desktop
directory.
the possible database connection problems are 1.database is
not up and running 2. database services were not started 3.
listner service is not started 4. listner port is not
configured correctly.
