okay, so we can get to "a(bc+BC)"

but "bc+BC" does not equal 1.

Think about it, if b=0.125 c=0.25; the B=0.875 and C=0.75
so... (0.03125)+(0.65625) = 0.6875.

So the answer is [e] (unless I missunderstood the meaning of
the notatiion in answer [d]).
