1)severity status is used to explain how badly the
deviation is affecting the build
2)severity type is defined by the tester
based on the written test cases and funtionality
1)priority status is set by tester to the developer
mentioning the time frame to fix the defect
2)the priority status is set based on the customer
requirements

There is only requirements document. You have 10 days and 8 resources to release the system.At the end of the 8th day u tell ur TL that system is ready for release. How will you proceed with the testing process or in other words what all approach you will follow once you get requirements
