where we sense the fault from the transmission lines?any
operation example for distance relay?rear panel connection
for this relay?
Answer Posted / k.prakashchandra
The voltage and current measurements are fed to distance
relay.Z=V/I.During fault V decreases and I increases. Then
value of Z decreases. The relay is set to trip for a certain
low value of Z.So the relay does not trip at zero current
but at zero voltage.Connections are to be done as per the
instructions.
