what do banks do to lower their NPA rate?
Answer Posted / gautam das
NPA as the name suggest Non-Performing means that doesn't
perform in respect of the rules. Before performing the loan
RBI has given many rules and guidelines to the commercial
banks. That are followed but not in due respect...
To lower the risk of NPA:-
1) Before sanctioning the loan you must search all the
information about the customer i.e. his family background,
income background, assets, criminal records, family members etc.
2) If all the searches is complete then take the strong
securities that could be according to the loan.
3) If loan is going to be an NPA as he is not in position to
pay it back then take a conversation with him called
"OTS"(One Time Settlement). And decide to manage the amount
which he or bank can afford.
4) If the customer belongs to criminal record and he is
rigid to not pay back then do as hard rule says. "Kurki Jabti"
5) In my opinion if one is unable to pay back then bank
should take only absolute money not interest. That can cover
the minimum risk of NPA.
