Dear All, How can I make 5VDC with 500mA current rating
from our 230VAC. Can anybody help me with different answers?

yes as kumar said........use a step down transformer and use
a bridge rectifier at its output .and some filters before
giving it to a 7805 ic...take the output at 7805 .simple
