a trader sold an article for Rs 714/-after allowing
discount of 15%.If not allowed discount he would have make
20%profit. If so what will be thwe cost price of the article
Answer Posted / john
Article sold for RS 714 after allowing 15% discount.
Then the actual cost of the article was 840 (714*100/85)with out any discount.
Hence now his profit is rs 42.
If he would have not allowed his 15% discount then he might have sold it for rs 840 and his profit would have been 20% and the amount will be rs 168.
