What is the difference between layer 2 and layer 3 in the

Layer 2 delivers the bitstreams, i.e., node to node delivery.
It frames every bitstreams.It maintains error and flow
control in the frames,such as resending of the lost frames.
Layer 3,the transport layer which provides 'source to
destination' delivery in the "packets".It provides 'service
point addressing',there by delivering the packets to the
destination.
