How to take Transformer oil Break down voltage test?
Answer Posted / saravanan.m
*Take one sample from top of Transformer and one from the
bottom of transformer.
*The BDV of oil should withstood min 50 KV
*The gap between the test sample is 2.5mm maintained
*Each sample(top/bottom) should be checked seperately
*Procedure
a.Voltage should be gradually increased from 0.
b.At one point Flash will take place and that point is
termed as Bread down Voltage.
*If its withstand means the viscosity of transformer oil is
good
