There are 2 toy cars facing each other at a distance of 500
cm from each other . Each other moves forward by 100 cm at
a speed of 50 cm/sec and then moves back by 50 cm at a
speed of 25 cm/sec . how long will it take the cars to
collide each other ?
Answer Posted / ritu goyal
it will take 20 seconds..
Explanation:
100/50=2 sec(i.e it will take 2 secs for a car to move 100
cm).
then
50/25=2 sec(i.e. it takes 2 secs for a car to move 50 cm
but in the backward direction)..
so a car covers a distance of 50 cm in total of 4 sec.
as the distance b/w two car is 500 cm so each car has to
move 250 cm for each of them to collide.so it will take a
total of 20 sec(4*5).
