A man bought some fruits at the rate of 16 for Rs. 24 and
sold them at the rate of 8 for Rs. 18. What is the profit
per cent?

(a) 50%

(b) 60%

(c) 40%

(d) 25%

(e) None of these

Answer Posted / vishal

buying price per fruit is = 24/16= 1.5

selling price per fruit is =18/8=2.25

profit per fruit=2.25-1.5=.75

so profit on 16 fruit is=16*.75=12

so 12 is the 50% of 24

so total profit is 50%
