Embedded system is a combination of hardware and software,
where the software is hidden inside the hardware, just as
the HomePC that we use, we see the hardware like monitor,
keyboard, CPU, etc while the software namely windows OS is
hidden inside that CPU. Same in mobile phones, etc.
