Agreed with Yatin, A role cn have multiple profiles assigned hence maximum no. of roles assigned to a user can/ cannot be more than 312.
Reason behind the 312 profiles:
In table USR04 you have field PROFS [Length 3750] which is used to save
1> Change flag (C - User is created or M - User is modified). This flag is of 2 characters
2> List of profiles per user.
Since the 2 characters are for the changes in Flag value i.e. C or M the field has 3748 characters remaining. Each /profile is of 12 characters hence 3748/12 = 312.
