for sure the gears have tooth/teeth hihhihihihihi
and by law the "mesh" and rotate.

certain value right,,,,, so for cooling and lubricating to
reduce wear and tear is the base line of purpose of use.

temp need to sustain/ operate etc.,,

there are oil cooled gears boxes

there are grease cooled gear boxes

generally SAE 90 SAE 140 ARE IN WIDE USE
