what is ifference between PFR ,MFR and batch reactor?
Answer Posted / saptarshi
PFR and MFR are basically continuous type reactors while
the batch reactor as its name suggests, is non continuous
type of reactor. however a MFR can be both batch or
continuous.
in a PFR composition varies along the length of the reactor
whereas in a MFR composition of the reactant mixture is
uniform throughout the reactor and same as that in the exit
line. MFRs usually are equipped with an agitating device
(stirrer, agitator) for mixing the reactants but in case of
PFRs mixing takes place pependicular to the direction of
flow of reactants and they do not have any agitating device
as such.
