If you have forgotten the root password for a server, how
do you get back in?

Answer Posted / manoj kumar

go to ok prompt from there
boot cdrom -s
#mount /dev/dsk/c0t0d0s0 /a
#cd /a
#cd
#vi /etc/shadow

remove the second field which is in encryption form, and
save the file

#umount /a

#boot s

when it boots for single user mode then change the root
password using command
#passwd root

now reboot the system in multiuser mode
