at present in india there are three operating HVDC
transmission lines(not including B-to-B)
1)chandrapur to padghe(mumbai)--(1500 MW at ±500 kV DC)
2)rihand to delhi (dadri)(1500 MW at ±500 kV DC)
3)talchar to kolar (2500 MW)
and projects in progress are:
4)ballia to bhiwadi(2500 MW)-first pole charged as of 31st
March 2010
5)Mundra-Mohindergarh(Adani group-first Indian private
HVDC)-in progress,completion by 2011 end.
6)Bishwanath/Chariali to Agra(6000 MW)-recently awarded to
ABB-BHEL
