how does a client /server environment affects testing?

As there are lot of dependencies like data transfer,
hardware, and server etc while working with client/server
technologies, testing will be extensive. If there is a high
time contraint, system and integration testing will be
followed. But generally load, stress and performance
testing have to be done for the client / server environment.
