what r self priming pumps? Self priming pump is available
only in horizontal pumps and not in vertical pumps.

self priming pumps are those pumps which does not require priming manually gear pump is an ex for this in centrifugal pumps priming is mainly done to ensure that the delivery valve is completly filled with water other wise it will suck air and may damage the pump.
