what is the difference between credit and debit note?

credit note means
credit note is issued by the trader to the person who
return the goods just informing him his a/c must be
credited for the value of the goods return by him
debit note means
the trader return the goods to the supplier and should
prepare a debit note his a/c must be debited for goods
returned.

We are a education institute based in chennai.if i purchase a product in chennai and i transfer it to our branch which is in bangalore. we don't have tin nos,Sales tax nos, cst nos. We have only service tax nos. what is the procedure.
AT THE TIME OF REDEMPTION OF DEBENTURES. WHEN THERE IS PROFIT/LOSS ON SALE OF DEBENTURES WE TRANSFER THAT AMOUNT IN PROFIT AND LOSS A/C BUT WHEN WE CANCEL OUR DEBENTURES AFTER BUYING IT FROM OPEN MARKET THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MARKET VALUE AND COST OF DEBENTURES TRANSFER TO "CAPITAL RESERVE ACCOUNT .. WHY SO ANY PRACTICAL ANSWER ??
