what is a difference b/w earthing & neutral?
Answer Posted / praful nandankar
Neutral is a point where all the three phases are
connected.Earthing is used for the safety purposes.Neutral
point is necessary to eliminate the third harmonic current
in case of synchronous generators. If some equipment is
earthed it means even if some eletric stresses are
produced, the overvoltage is directly discharged to groun. At
neutral,IR+IY+IB=0.
