it will take 18 years 2 month and 15 days
16 gm to 8 gm in 10 years
8 gm to 4 gm in 5 years {again}
4 gm to 2 gm in 2.5 years
2 gm to 1 gm in 1.25 years
So, It will take (10+5+2.5+1.25)years.
