1.maharashtra (41,100,980 living in urban areas)
2.U.P (34,539,582)
3.T.N (27,483,998)
4.W.B (22,427,251)
5.Andhra pradesh (20,808,940)

But considering the proportion of people living in
urban areas goa ranks first

1.goa (49%)
2.Tamil nadu (43%)
3. maharashtra (42%)

Hence considering larger states thus neglecting Goa
Tamilnadu ranks first in proportion of people living in
urban areas
