Square Root extractor are used in Flow measurement in pipe
lines of low slurry and low viscous fluids by using Orifice,
Venturi, Annubar...
flow is measured by creating differential pressure along
those devices and taking square root extraction in either
transmitter side or in controller side.
some of the flow measurement devices like cariolis mass flow
meter, magnetic, vortex etc... which measure slurry and
highly viscous materials does not have square root extractor...
