On what property u can distinguish material as brittle or
ductile?
Answer Posted / karthik
Based on Basic Crystal structure ((i.e, Body Centered Ccubic, Face Centered Cubic, Hexagonal Close Packing structures)) the material can be determined to be ductile or brittle((or other properties too viz STRENGTH, DENSITY, CONDUTIVITY AND SHAPE...
Materials with BCC structure: High strength, but low ductility
Materials with FCC structure: Less strength, highly ductile than BCC.
Materials with HCP structure: Less Ductile then FCC materials.
