Actually motors are designed at 0.8pf.
50kw load means 50/0.8 kva i.e to 62.5 kva
we know that kvar=kva*sin(angle b/w V & I)
To take Power factor to Unity we need Kvar=62.5*0.6
=37.5 kvar
