Derating Factor value depends upon the motor environment,
For example:
Motor design temp – 45 deg C
But motor location ambient temp 65 deg C (near any burner
or heat source)
So motor performance (rated power) will reduced due to
ambient temp.
For that motor manufacturer given Derating Factor value.
Ex:
Rated power = 45 kW
Derated power = 42 kW (Operating Temp – 50 deg C)

The company where I am working, their is rosemount 5400 series radar type level transmitter, it is meant to show level of filled tank, but along with the level it is showing temperature also, so my question is how a onon-contact type radar type level transmitter can show temperature even if it does not have any contact with the fluid?
