what is the effect of power factor in electrical circuit ?
if we mainten power factor near about unity (0.999) our
energy consumption Units increase or decrease?
Answer Posted / yogesh
As we know Load is in KW & it is constant. PF will not
change units consumed as we are measuring energy consumption
units in KW not in KVA, only transmission losses will be
reduced.
KW=1.73 X V X I X cos phi
AS KW is constant, voltage is constant if cos phi changes
current will be changed.
