Maharashtra from eons is home to the marathis. With the
advent of a new nation India internal migration is
disturbing the cultural fabric of the nation. Either Indian
rulers in the center ensure regional autonomy or face a
complete secesion from the nation. Its not a far-sighted
idea, the east wants out, Kashmir wants out and so do many
small groups in the South. Now Marathis feel that they are
losing out local opportunities to people from other states.
This is reason enough to justify jobs to the locals. While
comparison to nations like the USA where locals can travel
anywhere within the continental United States to live and
work, it doesnt apply to India which has numerous
languages, religions and cultures. The US though comprising
of multiple races and origins has a common language,
imposed by the original settlers the English\Irish and
others, which have been adhered to by migrants. Such a
thing is impractical and unacceptable in India. No
Southerner or the majority of them want to learn Hindi or
put up with Hindi's who have no respect for the Southern
culture.
