Transformer oil is low viscosity lube termed as transformer
oil base stock,which is obtained by fractional distillation
and subsequent treatment of crube oil.Transformer oil
consists of 4 major organic compounds namely
paraffins,naphthenes,aromatics and olefines.All these are
hydro carbons and hence insulating oil is also called
hydrocarbon oil.
