What is the basic difference between synchronous machine
and induction machiine?
Answer Posted / iamdon
The differences can be outlines as follows:
1)The synchronous machine runs at synchronous speed at
steady condition(It oscillates during transients which
finally settle down) which is fixed for a particular
machine. The induction machies always runs at speed lower
then synchronous speed.
2)In synchronous machines field winding(generally placed on
rotor)carry DC.Where as in case of Induction machines rotor
winding carry AC.
3)In case of synchronous machines field winding is suplied
from external source where as in case of Induction machines
current is induced in rotor conductor by induction process
(Thats why it is called induction machine).

I have a situation to design sub-Distribution board/Panel meant for feeding power sockets. In the incomer CAN i Take TP MCCB with Neutral Link and All the outgoing feeders with to sockets with TP MCCB and Neutral Link? P.S : My System is IT Earthing
What is the physical significance of phase.. i.e. what is exactly the meaning in layman's language.. 1 phase, 3 phase etc ???
Actually I have a doubt on neutral and earth.we use Ac power without taking neutral by connecting to earth, but at that time does it affects on efficiency of any electrical components or no? If yes how?
