Tell me about use of heat sinks in digital circuit.

The digital circuit operate on the low power If we are
switching the power level from higher to lower like 230 AC
to 5 DC using 7805 the power is dissipatd in the IC itself
so it get heated and to save the IC from burning we use
heatsinks which dissipate the extra heat
