It is the current which shocks us (upto 9 mA current, our
body can sustain for fairly long time).
It is not voltage because if our body is at the same
potential then there will not be any damage. But if it is
potential diffence then it causes current flow through our
body and cause are disintegration of the organic molecoles
of our body.
