Why does inductor is connected to dc supply? or what is the
role of an inductor when connected to DC source?
Answer Posted / princealekota
Inductor used in DC circuits is for safety purpose. When
inductor is connected on DC circuit storing and decaying is
happend in specific conditions.
when current suddenly increases then inductor produces self
induced emf opposing the current then voltage across L is
-Vemf. and when current becomes stable inductor will not
oppose the current and voltage acreoss the inductor is zero
and act like a normal wire or just shorted since freq in DC
is zero.
so final thing is, inductor will not allow the changes of
current in DC circuits
