Can neutral line also be use as a earthting for
distribution transformer, or we need separate earthing pit
forh the transformer?
Answer Posted / ullas
in the distribution transformer the secondary star side
common point is earthed and taken it as a neutral terminal.
this neutral is earthed 4 place i one mile., in order to
keep the potential as zero volt..
there are so many distribution systems in india.
take the case of kerala, my state.
here we are using the TNCS System.
here phase line and neutral line are given to the consumer
by the supplier. the consumer shall provide an earth pit
for earthing his equipments.
in tamilnadu the TNEB provide additional earth line with
phase and neutral.
