In a boiler Natural gas flow 10,000 N cubic meter and
combustion air flow 22,000 cubic meter, how I convert gas
flow N cubic meter to cubic meter to maintain fuel air ratio?
Thank you.

Answer Posted / c.sudhir

Generally the aiAir to fuel ratio will be 1.3.5 , so t
based on the calarafic value of the Fuel the Air ratio is
maintained , so iam here by writing the calcualation part
with Example .
GENERAL CALCULATION

1. Specific steam should be produced per kg of
briquette.
= …………CV…(Calorific value of
Briquette.)…………
Specific Fuel Enthalpy –
Feed water temperature ( or Enthalpy of Feed water )

Exp: = 4200 KCAL/ KG (BRIQUETTS)
(663-62)

= 6.9 kg of steam / Kg of briquette

1kg of briquette = 6.9kg of steam

2. Specific Fuel consumption per actual
Briquett Burned.

= TOTAL STEAM
PRODUCED
TOTAL
BRIQUETTS CONSUMED (OR)

= TOTAL WATER
CONSUMED
TOTAL
BRIQUETTS COMSUMED

Exp: = 13094KG = 3.2 hs of
STEAM
4186 hs

= 17540 Kg = 4.1kg /STEAM
4186kg

Efficiency of Boiler = Actual /
Standard = 4.1/6.9= 0.59x100= 59%

ACTUAL CALCULATION

= STEAM GENERATED (SP ENTHALPY OF STEAM AT Std
Pressure – FEED WATER Temp
CALALARAFIC VAIVE * FUEL CONSUMED (S.F.C)

ExP: = 13094 ( 663-62) = 0.448100 =44%
4200 *4186Reg.,

why we use kg/cm2 instead of kg/m2 as a unit of pressure. As we know kg is a MKS unit and cm is a CGS unit. So why we use combination of both(kg/cm2)while describing the pressure.
