in our sub station why we step down firstly 33kv\11kv then
11kv to 430v. can we direct step down 33v to 430.v.

Genarally load centers are very away from the Generating
stations & scattered too.No of 11/.430KV SS are very high
compared to 33/11KV SS. In the view of construction cost of
the 33/11KV SS is high compared to the 11/.430KV SS. At
this condition , construction cost of 33/0.420KV is very
high compared to the cost of 33/11KV SS. If we propose
33/0.420KV SS in all load centers the no. of ss will become
very high and construction cost will be very high.
Technically we can go for strigh step doun but it is not
economical.
