In a layman's language lets try to analyze what are the
steps in a software development life cycle or SDLC.
Suppose in a locality there's this problem of theft
increasing day by day..let's design a system that will
prevent this from happening..
1. Identify the Problem:-Preliminary Investigation
We know the problem. Stop the thefts in the locality.
2.Feasibility Study:=system analysis
Can we get enough resources and policing in our locality to
stop all this??
Can we do it in the stipulated time??
Do we have the necessary funds??
3.system design
Where exactly will we locate the police stations and how
many.It might involve a lot of paper work too!!
4.system development
Start building!!
5.system implementation:
Bring in the police constables, and tell people about it.
Here is where the first case is registered.
6.maintenance{corrective,replacive, adaptive,preventive and
perfective}
Nothing in this world is perfect afterall!! Check if the
constables are not being bribed.Ask the clients(cilvilians
that is) whats not working well...and CORRECT whatever is wrong.
Replace people who are not performing well.
give incentives to those who are discouraged.
Take actions that prevent officials to go corrupt.
Make the system as near to perfect as possible.
