Hi , We monitor application server SM51 , wht action need to
be taken if any application server down .
Can we start application server dierectly in OS levwel , Or
do we have any other transaction in SAP to start remotely.

Hi,
One can start Application Server in OS Level by following
the steps as mentioned below :
Goto-----Start----Run---Cmd----and goto path C:/Documents
and Settings/Administrator:and type the command as
StartSap Name(SystemName)=xyz NR(System Number)=00
SapDiaHost(HostName)=xyz, directly through cpmmand prompt
and one should be able to up Application Server
Successfully.

i am arun, as of now i am working in a power plant. I did B.E mech and have completed PGDC in thermal power plant engineering from NPTI(NATIONAL POWER TRAINING INSTITUTE). I started my career in software oly , as i dono any software languages i got failed in conformation exam. I have a requirement from the SD people wherein whenver one runs the tcode F-02 (Enter G/L account Policy : Header Data), they should not get the list of all acounts in the ACCOUNT field. But when i go to pfcg to check for restricting the list, i dont find any pertinet auth field for doing so. Isi t something that we can ( as Basis Admin) do or the ABAPpers to do. Maybe the ABAPpers have to program the screen where in they need to restrict the list options. If not so, lemme know the auth field that has to bet set if any.
