I have applied for Group 1 exam whose application form
submission process is now on the way(till 1st sep 2009).
I am a fresher when it comes to preparation for Group 1.
Can anyone approximately tell me how much time it would
generally take to prepare for prelims and then for mains? I
am ready to dedicate atleast 10 hrs per day for
preparation.

The secret of success in Group 1 is that you should prepare
for mains and Prelims together but not as two seperate
entities.
If you can really study for 10 hours(which is very tiresome)
you can finish the Preperation in 3 months.
