Can any body tell me about Hi-pot test, and why it is
necessary and its procedure of testing
Answer Posted / karthik
Hi-Pot test (High Potential) test is used to find out the
insulation strength of a conductor.Usually a voltage of 125%
of rated voltage is applied during the initial test of the
insulation. For any future tests(which should not be carried
out)the applied voltage is less than 100% for not degrading
the insulation.
