there are many types of insulators which used according to
design :
- tension insulator
-suspension insulator
-Horizontal Post insulator
-Vertical Post Insulator
- Pin Insulator
for using composite insulator both tension and suspension
are of long rod type insulator , only the difference in
insulator fittings rel;ated to conductor.
when use ceramic disc insulators which is pin & cap type it
can use also for tension and suspension wioth suitable
fittings.
post insulators usually used to medium voltage 11kv - 33kv
pin is suitable for low voltage.
horizontal are used as armless whic suitable when corridor
issue is raised.
of course there is other type of insulators for covered
insulated conductor
