why is the core of the underground cable is spiral in shape
instead of straight?

Rolling is one of the fact....
But the main reason for spiral is mechanical.
In straight wire the share force is less than that of
spiral wire. hance the spiral wire's strength is too much
higher than straight wire.......this is the main fact....
