#ifconfig <interface name> plumb
It will enable the interface kernal
#ifconfig <interface name> <ipaddress> netmask <sub netmask> up
IT will set the ipaddress
#route add default <gateway address>
To add the default gateway.
#ifconfig -a
It will list the entire thing like ip , mac, ..
